Meet Our Parrots
Our colorful parrots are in high demand! All of our birds are able to fly as we believe that it is better for them physically and psychologically. As such, interactions are limited for outdoor events depending on the length of event and the temperature. If parrots are the highlight of your event, we recommend having the event indoors for the best experience for both our friends and your guests.
Parrot Friends
Name: Domino
Date of Hatching: February 7, 2014 Description: Domino is a green cheek conure. She lost her buddy, Kurt, in January of 2019. Since his passing, she has grown a greater appreciation for her human friends. She loves showing off at parties and events. She will happily perch on fingers, shoulders, and heads. She is our only parrot who will fly on cue from one guest to another. She is happy to have people talk to her, but she dislikes being pet by clumsy people fingers. Favorite Activities: Playing with her bell toy, being a part of human activities, and eating her favorite snacks Origin: Domino was a personal pet of Alex prior to the establishment of Ferrets and Friends, LLC. She was originally a companion of Kurt, another Green Cheek Conure Can I do tricks? Yes, I fly on cue and spin Can I talk? Name: Quito
Date of Hatching: March 1, 2020 Description: Quito is assertive, playful, and inquisitive. Like most Quaker Parrots, he is very territorial of his space and will bite any fingers that come too close. He is also very smart and is one of our only parrots who has figured out how to unlock cages and solve other more complex puzzles. Favorite Activities: Afternoon screaming time with Jubilee, following Domino, practicing his favorite phrases, and getting into mischief. Origin: Quito was purchased from Parrot's Nest as a baby Can I do tricks? Yes, I can do flight recall, talk on cue, and spin. Can I talk? Yes, I repeat certain phrases on cue at home. Name: Monty
Date of Hatching: Unknown (Estimated to be 12 years old in 2024) Description: Monty is an Eclectus Parrot who has had at least two previous homes before coming to Ferrets and Friends, LLC! He has an injured wing which happened at least 8 years ago with a previous owner. Monty is a very sweet and easy going parrot. Favorite Activities: Penguin walking and hopping, exploring, hanging out with humans Origin: Monty was an animal ambassador for Painted You and was a personal pet for at least two other individuals. Can I do tricks? Not sure yet. Can I talk? Not really, I prefer making honking noises. Indoor & Outdoor Events Status: Active Ambassador |
Name: Jubilee
Date of Hatching: September 7, 2017 Description: Jubilee is a Harlequin macaw, which is a hybrid macaw (Green Wing and Blue & Gold). She passed her Pets on Wheels temperament screening in 2018. She enjoys longer events where she can hang out and interact with different people. Favorite Activities: Greeting the ferrets, throwing her toys on the floor for humans to pick up for her, going on car rides, and screaming. Origin: Jubilee was purchased from Parrot's Nest at six months old. Can I do tricks? Yes, I wave and say "hi" on cue Can I talk? Yes. I most frequently say things like "step up", "come here", "hi", "hello", "peek-a-boo", "what are you doing?", and "Oh my God!" when something exciting has happened. I will say "hi" on cue, but otherwise I do not tend to talk much in unfamiliar places. Indoor & Outdoor Events For Outdoor Events, Jubilee is a Display-Only Parrot. She can sit in a white travel cage and guests may give her treats. She will not attend outdoor events if it will be too cold. Status: Active Ambassador |
Parrots In Training (2023)
Name: Rishi
Date of Hatching: March 10th, 2022 Description: Rishi is an Alexandrine Parakeet. He's a bit shy and can be easily startled, which isn't unusual for a young parrot. Fortunately, his best friend Amaya is extremely bold and outgoing, so he's encouraged to try new things. Favorite Activities: Hanging out with his partner in crime, Amaya. Origin: Rishi was purchased from South Mountain Aviary, which is a local breeder in Maryland. Can I do tricks? Yes, I fly on cue Can I talk? Yes, I like to say "Hi Rishi" and "Are you a good boy?" I will likely be too shy to talk at events until I get older. Status: In Training |
Name: Amaya
Date of Hatching: October 14th, 2022 Description: Amaya is a Sun Conure. Her color will change as she ages with yellow becoming more dominant over some of the green coloring that she has as a baby. She is bold, adventurous, and a bit of a class clown. Favorite Activities: Hanging out with her partner in crime, Rishi. She also enjoys bathing, exploring, and harassing the humans. Origin: Amaya was purchased from Tog Hollow Aviary & Farm. Can I do tricks? Yes, I fly on cue when I'm in the mood Can I talk? Yes, but I'm difficult to understand. I like to say "Jubilee", "Are you a good girl?", and "Are you a good boy?" Status: In Training |
