Pet & Play Package Option Descriptions
Ferret Pet & Play (All Ages)
This option is for ferret lovers of all ages. We bring all our available ferret friends (may include our retired friends if they're feeling up to a play date) and set up a play pen for your guests to take turns sitting in the ferret pit. Our animal educator will facilitate interaction and provide instructions for interactions with each of our ferret friends. If the environment is free from obvious hazards, your guests may also have the option to walk the ferret on a leash. Your guests can participate in a training session or simply enjoy the ferret's antics.
Small Mammal Pet & Play (Ages 3+)
This option includes all of our non-ferret fuzzy friends. Your guests will learn how to hold a hedgehog, witness a chinchilla dust bath, and play with our friendly dwarf rat trio. We can set up our playpen for your guests to take turns watching how their favorite fuzzy friends explore and freely interact within a safe environment. This package has the option to add bunnies for an additional fee. We have a minimum age requirement as interaction with these animals require some fine motor skills and the ability to listen to instructions for the safety of our animal friends.
Ferrets are not included in this option because the less-structured style of interaction causes an increased risk of interaction between animals. Ferrets are predatory animals to the other fuzzy friends. To reduce their stress and any possibility of accidental interaction, ferrets are not available in this party package option. If you want ferrets with a similar selection of animals, we recommend that you look at our
Fuzzy & Feathers
package. This package is a more structured educational program that includes ferrets as well as the other fuzzy friends.
Small Mammal Pet & Play with Bunnies (Ages 6+)
This option includes everything listed in the Small Mammal package with the addition of bunnies. An additional fee applies in order to decrease the number of bookings so that the bunnies do not become overworked due to their popularity. Bunnies are prey type animals that can be easily stressed and are not suitable for loud events or large parties. We set up our bunnies in their playpen for you guests to take turns sitting in the play pen with the bunnies. The guest of honor will be permitted to take pictures with the bunnies (if applicable) and will be able to give them treats.
Bird Pet & Play (Ages 8+)
For the best experience with this package, your event must be indoors in a "bird safe" area. All windows and doors must be closed, ceiling fans off, away from cooking equipment, and a reasonable ceiling height for bird retrieval. All of these friends can fly! Our animal educators will facilitate interactions with our doves and parrot friends. This includes holding the birds and giving them treats.
Please specify if there are any severe nut allergies as these are common treats for some of our parrots.
We have a minimum age requirement as interaction with birds requires fine motor skills and the ability to follow instructions closely. Parrots may bite if their space is not respected so your guests must be able to abide by the rules of the animal educator. We want our animal friends to continue to enjoy these experiences as much as the people do!
Chameleon
Red-footed Tortoise
Tegu Lizard
Reptile Pet & Play Options (All Ages)
Do you have an aspiring herpetologist? This package is an in depth look at our reptile friends and what goes into their care. Your guests can participate in feeding some of our reptile friends, learn how to hold and handle them, and observe their natural behaviors.
This is the only option that can be done outside. If there is a safe space, your guests may observe our tortoises and tegu lizard exploring in the grass. Sunny days are great to see how the Rainbow Boa gets its name.
With reptiles becoming more popular in the pet trade, this is a great opportunity to learn proper husbandry and meet the adult versions of some of the most popular "beginner" reptile pets.
